tech stack
Since the beginning of 2020, I worked at 3 companies, each roughly represents a development style of an era.
The 00' style: windows as development set up, COTS software with biannual release cycle, very limited distributed compute capability.
The 10' style: mac as development set up, shared colo, weekly releases, internal tool and infrastructure development.
The 20' style: mac as development set up, cloud native, very limited internal tool and infrastructure develop, almost all infrastructure are relying on managed services.
And as a result... the 20' style requires the least amount of engineering power (or effort) while yielding the most results (normalized).
